LaunchBar2: The rip-off.
If you use OS X you should already be using LaunchBar. If you aren’t yet, start now. LaunchBar is one of the best things to ever happen to the computer interface. It’s completly transparent, there when you need it, not when you don’t. It is endlessly useful. And sadly it has been completly ripped off by an unbelievably arrogant little company called CandyLabs.
A tip: If you’re going to copy something for a different platform don’t pretend you thought it up.
Chris Clark has a full write up and has been emailing back and forth with the CandyLabs people.

I hope they get things worked out between CandyLabs and ObDev… I would love it if ObDev gave Candylabs rights to market their new product, the Windows platform is dying for a tool like LaunchBar…

And as a followup, I later uninstalled it as most of it’s functionality is rhedundant in WinXP.

Dustin Mierau was a Cocoa programmer, too. He has a .mac e-mail address and hangs around on a lot of Cocoa mailing lists.
