I am amazed at how fast time is flying by. Where has the summer gone? Tim started school today and Connor had his first day of daycare. He seemed to adjust well, surprising us all - we think it may be all the toys that he doesn’t have at home.
Connor continues to grow in leaps and bounds. He is officially out of his 3-6 month clothes now - not a single stich of it fits him. And the 6-9 month stuff is snug. He has no socks left that fit and is growing out of his shoes. The summer was so nice because we would just let him hang out in his diaper all day. Now that he’s in daycare, we took a stock of what clothes he has and realized that he’s grown out of the majority of his wardrobe. I’ve always loved an excuse to go shopping…
We’ve started feeding him rice cereal once a day. This kid loves to eat! We didn’t know how he would react to it - if he’d spit it out, make a face, or gag. He gobbled it. And gobbled it. Just like he’s been eating all his life. We were very impressed. Of course, he wants to do everything himself, including feeding, which makes mealtime quite difficult. He makes a grab for the spoon and just wont give it back. And then you get another spoon and try to slip it in there between the “bites” he’s giving himself with the first spoon. By the end of the feeding, everyone and everything in the room is pretty much plastered with rice cereal. (Which, by the way, dries like freakin cement if you don’t clean it up when its wet).
We’ve also had to learn within the last week that we need to keep our living room very, very clean. He has started to move. Like lightening. One minute he’s playing with a rattle, the next he’s pulling DVDs off the shelf. You move him away from there and think you’re safe - but oh no - not quite! - now he’s eating Daddy’s outlines for school.
He’s not really crawling yet - he scootches. But he’s getting really close. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth like he’s exercising. It’s only a matter of time before we are really in trouble!
