What do you get when you work 12 hour days, with bronchitis no less, to pull off a fantastic, and stunning event?
According to Core Technology, the answer is a big old fat freaking pink slip, as I got LAYED OFF on Monday. Yes, that’s right. Thursday was the event, I spent Friday cleaning everything up, and Monday morning I come in and get layed off.
Now, I know that its not personal and that it had nothing to actually do with the event finally being over with. They had a board of directors meeting on Friday that had been scheduled for a long time, and due to financial situations (i.e. they are in big fat trouble), they had to lay off 1/3 of the staff. And I, lucky me, made the cut.
Still? It sucks. The timing sucks. And the whole darn thing sucks.
So now I’m home spending quality time with Connor and I’m trying to just enjoy myself without getting too depressed. Last week, I can’t say that I succeeded that much, but I’m hoping for a better time of it this week.
Meanwhile, I’m also trying desperately to find a job. Because 2/3 of our family income comes from me and we can’t make it on Tim’s salary alone. Also? We lost our insurance. I got Connor signed up for MiChild, but that won’t cover Tim and I. Luckily, we still have some cash in our medical fund, but its not much.
So pray, pray, pray for us. For me to find the direction that God has planned for me. For good health and safety until we are once again medically covered. And though I know that God will provide for our needs, please pray for those as well. Cold weather is coming upon us, and Connor has nothing to fit him.

As for insurence, J and I have been without for more than 2 years now. So I hear you there. We have gotten through by going to the low-income clinic, which has a discount program offering services half off for those who qualify. So basically we've gone in when we were dying from bacterial infection (50 bucks a pop, plus 10 for script) and for my annual crotch dr. physical (cannot skip having the pill, even at $60 a year).
Hang in there, babe. You're smart, motivated and educated--and God will provide.
P.S. What size is Connor wearing?
